This plant is notable for its ability to tolerate low light and for its colourful mottled leaf markings.

The 'Silver King' has Lance-shaped leaves up to 30cm long, which are a mid-green with dark-green and light-green markings. The flowers are greenish-white spathes in summer.

The 'Treubii' has Lance-shaped leaves up to 30cm long with pale green or silver markings.The flower is a pale green spathes and white spadices appears on mature plants.
